FALL RESTRAINT
Fall
restraint is the use of a work-positioning system to prevent workers
from falling from the position in which they are working or a travel-restriction
system to prevent workers from traveling to an edge from which they
may fall.
1.
Rig positioning devices so that an employee cannot free fall more than
2 feet.
2.
Make sure positioning device systems are inspected prior to each use
for wear, damage, and other deterioration. Remove defective components
from service.
3.
Make sure anchorage points for positioning device systems are capable
of supporting two times the intended load or 3,000 pounds.
